Your Gateway to the Wild of Africa
Day 1: ARRIVALDay 2: KAMPALA -
MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Depart
Kampala and head for Murchison Falls National
Park, stopping for lunch at Masindi. Visit the
magnificent falls and marvel at the mighty Nile as
it is forced into a seven-meter crevice to thunder
45 meters below. See the series of cascades it
forms, which can be viewed at different points up
to the summit. Dinner and overnight Red Chillie
Camp.
Day 3: MURCHISON FALLS
NATIONAL PARK
After an early morning
breakfast, embark on a half-day game drive on the
northern bank of the Nile. You may opt for a game
walk to trail animals and study their spoors. Game
in this park includes: Rothschild Giraffe,
Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest, Lions, Oribi,
Waterbucks and a variety of savannah woodland
birds. At 14.00 hrs, after lunch, launch on a Nile
boat cruise to view game at close proximity. This
is a unique encounter with a paradise of hippos
and crocodiles, among other animals. Dinner and
overnight at Red Chilli
Camp.
Day 4: MURCHISON FALLS -
FORT PORTAL
Depart Murchison Falls
after an early breakfast. Head for Fort Portal,
the area where Semliki & Kibale Forest
National Parks are situated. The drive is
approximately 8 hours. Dinner and overnight at
Rwenzoir View guest house.
Day
5: FORT PORTAL - SEMLIKI -
FORTPORTAL
Depart early after
breakfast for the hot springs and crown the day in
the pygmy villages located near the Ituri
Rainforest. The visit to the villages has proven
to be an interesting cultural experience. The
guide will have lunch arranged for you to be
served as a picnic while you experience the "real
Africa". Afternoon transfer to Fort Portal and
arrive this evening at Rwenzori View Guest
house.
Day 6: KIBALE NATIONAL
PARK
After breakfast we visit Kibale
Forest National Park, which is reputed to have the
greatest variety and highest concentration of
primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature
walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the
wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and
white colobus monkeys and many others. After lunch
we explore the Crater Lake region, which has many
crater lakes. Later, sit back and relax as you let
a traditional dancing group entertain you. Dinner
and overnight at Rwenzori View guest
house.
Day 7: KIBALE - QUEEN
ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Transfer to
Queen Elizabeth National Park where we take on a
morning game drive in search of the wild game:
lions, elephants, buffaloes, kob etc. Drive to the
Institute of Ecology, your accommodation in Queen
Elizabeth National Park. A buffet lunch is
organized at Tembo Restaurant. At either 15.00 or
17.00 hrs we take a boat cruise along Kazinga
Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and
Lake George. One of the highlights of your safari,
the cruise will treat you to abundant bird life
and what is perhaps the highest concentration of
hippos in Africa. Dinner and overnight at the
campsite.
Day 8: QUEEN
ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
The day begins
early, as you head for the mating ground of the
Uganda Kob. Search for lions in their natural
habitat, as well as elephants, buffaloes etc.
before returning for lunch. After stretching our
legs, we visit the bat cave and hunters cave where
we take a close look at the bats, rock python and
forest cobras. The same walk will provide a chance
of seeing birds, primates, tree species etc.
Dinner and overnight at the
campsite.
DAY 9: QUEEEN -
BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL
PARK
After breakfast, you visit the
Kyambura wildlife Reserve. We hike into the gorge
of the Kyambura River for another but different
experience with chimps. Driving through grassland
area all of a sudden we come across an amazing
gorge 100 meters deep with tropical rain forest.
It�s so rewarding seeing the beautiful river
valley home of many birds and butterfly species.
Later drive to Bwindi in preparation for next
day�s Gorilla trekking. Dinner and overnight at
Buhoma community camp.
DAY 10: BWINDI
IMPENETRABLE N.P WHOLE DAY.
After an
early morning breakfast, we go for a briefing with
our packed lunch, and then embark on a long
awaited adventure of the Gorillas in the Bwindi
impenetrable forest. The jungle being
unpredictable, it�s difficult to estimate how long
you may hike; however, you may take 3-8hrs. The
encounter and viewing of the Gorillas is only one
hour, which is the conservation rule. Dinner and
overnight at Buhoma community Camp.
DAY 11: BWINDI � LAKE
BUNYONYI
After an early breakfast, you
will then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, passing
through the evergreen vegetation and rolling hills
of Kabale commonly known as the little
�Switzerland of Uganda�. This is such a beautiful
lake that is normally breath taking for most of
the clients after the hectic Gorilla trekking.
With lunch enroute, you will arrive this evening
for relaxation and some swimming to cool off the
fatigue. Check in for dinner and overnight at
Bunyonyi Overland Camp.
DAY 12: LAKE
BUNYONYI
After breakfast, we explore
lake Bunyonyi in dug out canoes and after lunch,
depending on ones preference, take leisure walk,
mountain biking, go swimming or if one is a bird
watcher and a butterfly lover, you can go for it.
Then check in for dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi
Overland camp.
DAY 13: LAKE
BUNYONYI- LAKE MBURO NATIONAL
PARK
Today after breakfast, we drive
to lake Mburo national park, which is also a park
of its own nature, with lunch enroute, arrive this
evening at the park. Have an evening game drive as
you enter the park where you may see topis,
Buffaloes, waterbucks and not forgetting Elands,
which are the largest antelopes found in Uganda.
Check in for dinner and overnight at Rwonyo
camp.
DAY 14: LAKE MBURO �
ENTEBBE
Early morning breakfast and
after packing your bags go for a morning nature
walk. This walk is very rewarding with many plants
and animals� species plus birds. After depart for
Entebbe, have lunch en route, later stop at the
Equator for shots and an experiment. Check in for
dinner and overnight at our own J-COURTS or
Savannah Campsite.
DAY 15:
DEPARTURE
After breakfast, we have two
options; Depending on your time of departure.
We either transfer to Jinja for either rafting
the whole day with the Adrift Uganda Limited at an
extra fee of US$85
OR
For those who can not
raft, they can choose on many other activities
like Quad biking, boat rides to the island
or
Visit Jinja town (one of Uganda�s
beautiful/rich natural cities) with a tour to the
Bujagali falls, then the source of the River Nile,
the Ssezibwa falls which is said to have been born
by human and natural attractions. You will spend
the whole day there with a help of the
guide/driver showing you around then windup the
day by transferring back to Entebbe to prepare for
your departure.
The cost of the safari is US
